McCormick Bird House

McCormick Bird House

Birds from the tropics, seashores, forests, wetlands, and savannas all have room to roost at McCormick Bird House. In this space, guests can see bird species that are extinct, threatened, or endangered in the wild and learn about Lincoln Park Zoo’s efforts to preserve and protect these at-risk populations.

Bird House features nearly a dozen naturalistic habitats that replicate a range of ecosystems, as well as a tropical free-flight aviary. During daily free-flight feeding enrichment, interpreted by the zoo’s Learning staff, guests can witness the zoo’s expert animal care in action.

Animals

Commitment to Care

Animals may not be visible at all times. To promote positive animal welfare, we provide animals with choices. They can choose to spend time in areas that are out of public view.

Take Action With Us

Wildlife face many daunting challenges—some global, like planet-wide climate change, and some that affect individuals, like an animal ingesting plastic—but now is not the time to despair. None of these problems are too big for us to come together and solve.
