New Arrivals: Domestic Goats

August 21, 2025

Please help Lincoln Park Zoo welcome two new kids on the block! Parker and Lincoln, domestic goat brothers, have arrived at Farm-in-the-Zoo. They’re brothers to the current goat yard residents, Billy and Gruff.

Parker, born March 18, and Lincoln, born March 22, are easily distinguished from their older siblings by their tan coats and striking blue eyes. Parker is the bigger of the two youngsters, with darker markings on his front legs and back. He also wears a purple collar. Caretakers say he’s the bolder of the two. In contrast, Gruff is silvery in color, while Billy has more black. The older brothers are adult-sized and were born in 2024.

All four goats are part of a relatively new breed called Mini Nubians, recognized by the Miniature Dairy Goat Association and known for long and floppy ears, their small size, and a friendly demeanor. Mini Nubian goats live up to 15 years and can be sexually mature as young as three months old. As adults, they average 31 inches tall and 120 pounds in weight.

Stop by Farm-in-the-Zoo to check out these adorable brothers at the Dairy Barn! You’ll also want to see some of the other changes at the farm, including thriving gardens and different spaces for the rabbits and pigs.
