The most wonderful time of the year deserves the most wonderful event of the year! Celebrate the holidays with ZooLights Presented by ComEd and Invesco QQQ. This festive, one-of-a-kind holiday experience offers a merry, family-oriented tradition in the heart of the city. Your visit helps keep Lincoln Park Zoo free and supports our animal care, community, and conservation work. Thank you!

Ticketing Information

Tickets to to ZooLights tickets are $5 nightly from Tuesday through Sunday. Tickets are free each Monday. All dates require a timed reservation.

All guests, including children and infants, must have a ticket to enter, including free nights.

ZooLights runs 4:30-10 p.m. nightly from November 19 through January 1, except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Several dates are also reserved for special events. Special events may impact ZooLights hours. Free or $5 ZooLights dates are:

  • November 19-23, 25-30
  • December 2–14, 16–23, 26–31
  • January 1

Members get perks at ZooLights, including early access to tickets and two free nights. Members-only events include a members-only preview on November 18 and a members-only night on December 14. Please Note:

  • Tickets are available starting mid-October. Members get early access!
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. ZooLights will take place rain or shine.

Free Nights

Free nights are back! On Mondays, November 21 and 28, and December 5, 12, 19, and 26, tickets are still required, but they are free. These tickets will be released a week in advance of each date with limited quanities available.

Ticketed Attractions

Tickets for ZooLights attractions cost $4 for one ticket, $36 for 10 tickets, and $69 for 20 tickets. Tickets will be available to add to your Eventbrite ticket in advance. They will also be available at on-grounds ticket counters.

AT&T Endangered Species Carousel
Round and round you go! Hop aboard your favorite carousel animal: lion, seal, ostrich, and more! 1 ticket per person

Lionel Train Adventure
This short, family-friendly train ride near the West Gate entrance is perfect for little ones! 1 ticket per person

Ferris Wheel
The crowd-favorite Ferris wheel is back in 2022! Glide above the lights and take in zoo, park and skyline views on this classic ride. Get your 3D Holospex® Glasses at this attraction. 2 tickets per person

Light Maze Presented by Invesco QQQ
Twist and turn through this year’s dazzling Light Maze, a safe, beautifully-lit path sure to rouse holiday spirits. Get your 3D Holospex® Glasses at this attraction. 1 ticket per person

S’mores at Snowy’s
Get toasty by a wood burning fire pit. 2 tickets per person

Light Up The Lawn

ZooLights’ Winter Wonderlawn is home to its most dazzling light show, with a thousands of LED lights set to a festive program and the tune of bright holiday music. When you purchase this experience, you “flip the switch” on the Winter Wonderlawn and kick off an evening of magic for all of that day’s ZooLights guests!

The cost for this experience is $250-$350. Contact events@lpzoo.org for availability.

Adults Night Out: Holidaze!

Thursday, December 15, 6:30–10 p.m., ages 18+

This winter version of the zoo’s most popular event series gives adults exclusive access to walk around zoo grounds after hours with hot chocolate, mulled wine, or beer in hand. Come for the millions of holiday lights, stay for cash bars, and educational entertainment. Sound fabulous? Join us!

Where is ZooLights taking place?

Light displays and ticketed attractions for ZooLights will be located throughout main zoo grounds.

Will I be able to see the animals?

We hope you can see many animals during your visit! You can check out all the exhibits Lincoln Park Zoo has to offer by visiting lpzoo.org/exhibits.

We have nearly 200 species at Lincoln Park Zoo. Most habitats at the zoo include behind-the-scenes areas, and the animals can choose where to spend their time. Your best bet for seeing animals during ZooLights is to go inside animal buildings.

Is this event accessible?

Yes, Lincoln Park Zoo is an accessible facility. Please visit lpzoo.org/accessibility for information on parking, paratransit services, restrooms, and services for guests with disabilities or those who have sensory processing needs.

Are there age restrictions for ZooLights attractions?

ZooLights is an all-ages event. Some special events have age restrictions. Please check event listings. All events require a ticket for all in attendance regardless of age.

Do I need a ticket to attend ZooLights?

Yes, ZooLights admission costs $5 per guest, except for free nights (Mondays). Every member of your party must be accounted for, including infants and children. Only the guests included in the ticket order will be allowed to enter the zoo.

Some attractions at ZooLights have an additional cost and are listed above under “Ticketed Attractions.” Guests may purchase attraction tickets in advance by adding a ticket package to their Eventbrite purchase. Attraction tickets can also be purchased on grounds at Landmark Café, the zoo’s Gift Shop, and the hot chocolate stand at Park Place Café.

What if my plans change? Are tickets refundable or transferable?

No. While we understand that plans change, ZooLights tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. The event will continue rain or shine. Your ticket price helps keep Lincoln Park Zoo open and free to the public all year.

Is there a limit to the amount of time I can stay?

No. While there is no formal limit to your visit, please be respectful of other guests who are entering the zoo and parking lot. Most guests visit for about two hours.

Where can I park to attend ZooLights?

Guests who wish to drive can pay to park in the Lincoln Park Zoo lot on Cannon Drive. For additional information and pricing, please visit lpzoo.org/visit. Lincoln Park Zoo is also accessible by public transportation. Due to traffic and parking lot congestion, we highly recommend taking public transportation.

Will there be food or beverages for sale at this event?

Yes. Food is available at the following locations at Lincoln Park Zoo during ZooLights hours: Park Place Café, Snowy’s Spirits & S’more, Eadie Levy’s Landmark Café, and Snack & Drink Quick Stops. All cafes accept cash and credit. While we will have several ATMs on site, we encourage you minimize hand-to-hand transactions with credit cards.

What items are prohibited?

Outside food and beverage are not permitted at ZooLights. No firearms or weapons of any kind are allowed, except for on-duty police or security personnel. For the safety of guests, staff, volunteers, and animals, all purses, bags, and other items carrying personal belongings are subject to inspection upon entry.
