Auxiliary Board

Auxiliary Board

Established in 1984, the Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the longest running young professional boards in Chicago and has approximately 120 members. Those invited to join are at least 25 years old and are primarily young professionals from either downtown neighborhoods near the zoo or the suburbs.

The Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo works to support Lincoln Park Zoo by raising funds to preserve a free experience for the community. Its members strive to build awareness of the unique way in which the zoo connects the community to nature.

Annual Events

Spooky Zoo

Spooky Zoo offers a free, safe alternative to trick-or-treating in Chicago. This event attracts annual attendance of more than 25,000 children and families to the zoo—the majority of whom are from underserved communities—making it one of Chicago’s largest public-service initiatives.

BrewLights

BrewLights Presented by Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. is a festive beer-tasting event during ZooLights Presented by ComEd and Invesco QQQ. Guests sip and savor specialty brews, surrounded by beautiful holiday lights, while supporting Lincoln Park Zoo.

Zoo-ologie

This upscale cocktail party is the Auxiliary Board’s signature fundraiser. Zoo-ologie celebrates the natural beauty and urban spirit of Lincoln Park Zoo with an evening that includes a silent auction, live music, dancing, and bites from incredible food stations representing some of Chicago’s best restaurants.
