Auxiliary Board

Auxiliary Board

Established in 1984, the Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the longest running young professional boards in Chicago and has over 120 members. Those invited to join are at least 25 years old and are primarily young professionals from the Chicagoland area.

The Auxiliary Board of Lincoln Park Zoo works to support Lincoln Park Zoo by raising funds to preserve a free experience for the community. Its members strive to build awareness of the unique way in which the zoo connects the community to nature.

Annual Events

Spooky Zoo

Spooky Zoo, serving almost 15,000 guests annually, offers a free, safe, and accessible trick-or-treating experience for Chicago families and children. In addition to providing candy made with sustainable palm oil, Spooky Zoo offers health-conscious options, kid-friendly seasonal entertainment, and more. This makes it one of Chicago’s largest public-service initiatives.

Adult’s Night Out: Holidaze VIP Zoo Crawl hosted by the Auxiliary Board

The Auxiliary Board hosts the inaugural VIP Zoo Crawl at Adult’s Night Out: Holidaze in 2023. This upgraded experience offers guests exclusive access to heated areas, seasonal cocktails and holiday bites at VIP-only stations, live entertainment, and chats with zoo experts and scientists.

This upscale cocktail party is the Auxiliary Board’s signature fundraiser. Zoo-ologie celebrates the natural beauty and urban spirit of Lincoln Park Zoo with an evening that includes a silent auction, live music, dancing, and bites from incredible food stations representing some of Chicago’s best restaurants.
