Calling all ghouls and goblins: Adults Night Out: Howl-o-ween is back! This 21+ Halloween party at the zoo includes a haunted trail, Halloween-themed animal chats, free face-painting, a live DJ, and seasonal pop-up bars and concessions. Costumes are encouraged!

All General Admission Tickets Include:

  • A haunted trail to test your bravery as you walk amongst spirits and specters (Note: This is a jump-scare activity)
  • Free face painting
  • Free rides on the Endangered Species Carousel, Ferris Wheel, and Giant Fun Slide
  • DJ on Main Mall spinning music all night
  • Halloween-themed animal chats from zoo experts
  • Indoor and outdoor bars, concession stands, and a food court with festive food and drink for purchase

What are the age restrictions for this event?

21+. No one under this age will be permitted into the event. All guests must have a ticket.

When will ticket prices increase for this event?

Early Bird tickets will end on July 1. General Admission ticket pricing will run through October 10, and Last Call tickets will end the day before the event. If tickets are still available on the day of the event, tickets will be sold at the entry gates.

My plans changed and I can no longer attend. Can I transfer my tickets or get a refund? What happens if it rains?

All Lincoln Park Zoo event tickets are nonrefundable and not transferrable to another event. If you are not able to make it, feel free to give your ticket to a friend or family member 21 or older.

All events will be held rain or shine. Please dress accordingly!

Is parking available?

Paid parking is available at the zoo’s parking lot located at Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive (2400 N. Cannon Drive). The zoo is also accessible by train via the Armitage and Fullerton stations and by bus via the 22, 36, 151, and 156 routes. It is recommended for rideshares to drop off and pick up guests outside of the zoo’s West Gate at Stockton Drive and Webster Avenue.

Can I purchase tickets at the gate?

Maybe. If tickets remain available, a limited number of tickets will be for sale at the entrance gates for a higher price. We highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance, though, as this event may sell out quickly.

Do I need to print my ticket?

Nope! For the most efficient experience, please have your ID out and ticket ready on your smartphone. All guests must show their ID and ticket for entry.

How do I enter the event and can I re-enter once checked in?

Enter the zoo at the East Gate on Cannon Drive and Fullerton Parkway (in the zoo’s parking lot) or the West Gate at Stockton Drive and Webster Avenue. Tickets can be scanned on your smartphone or on a printed sheet of paper. Re-entry is not permitted.

What parts of the zoo will be open, and will I see animals?

This event will take place throughout Lincoln Park Zoo’s buildings and grounds. Most outdoor and indoor habitats will be open for viewing. However, animals have the choice to be in view of guests or behind the scenes.

What items are not allowed at this event?

Please make note of restricted items:

  • NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES
  • No filled water bottles, beverage containers, cans, or bottles
  • No folding chairs
  • No luggage of any kind
  • No animals (except service animals)
  • No coolers (unless medically required)
  • No illegal substances
  • No noisemakers or balloons
  • No Segways or motorized scooters
  • No thermal containers
  • No weapons
  • No remote-controlled aircrafts or drones
  • No items deemed dangerous or inappropriate

For the safety of all, costumes with a full-face covering are not permitted at this event. If you choose to wear a costume that is inflatable or full-bodied with fur, or that has wings, tentacles, or similar extensions, you may not be allowed into certain animal buildings.

Alcohol purchased outside the zoo is prohibited. We ask that you refrain from smoking tobacco and cannabis inside the gates for the health and safety of our animals and visitors. Lincoln Park Zoo’s Code of Conduct can be found here.

No firearms or weapons of any kind are allowed, except for on-duty police or security personnel. For the safety of guests, staff, volunteers, and animals, all purses, bags, and other items carrying personal belongings are subject to inspection upon entry.
