Chick it out: Lincoln Park Zoo’s Family-Friendly Spring Egg-Stravaganza Returns April 4

Celebrate the season with fun and festive egg hunts for kids ages 1-8

Chicago (February 27, 2026) Spring is right around the corner, and Lincoln Park Zoo is celebrating with its annual Spring Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 4. Enjoy a morning of seasonal festivities, tasty treats, and opportunities to learn about the animals at Lincoln Park Zoo.

Children can hop to it with their family members, with multiple egg hunt zones featuring different terrains and elements fit for ages 1-8. Throughout the morning, guests can also enjoy live music, outdoor activities and games, free rides on the Endangered Species Carousel and Lionel Train Adventure, chats with zoo experts, face painting, and a special Bunny Parade. Breakfast and lunch options will be available to purchase, and the Easter Bunny will be on grounds for photo opportunities.

Returning this year, the zoo is offering a designated egg hunt at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. for kids who are blind or have low vision. A fun audio and tactile alternative to the classic experience, this hunt consists of beeping eggs on a flat course with a smooth pavilion floor.

“Springtime at Lincoln Park Zoo is such a beautiful time of the year, and we’re excited to welcome families on grounds for a fun morning of egg hunting and Easter magic,” said Senior Events Manager Meg Hein. “With so much in bloom on grounds and animals outside enjoying the warmer weather, there really is nowhere more scenic to celebrate than at Spring Egg-Stravaganza.”

Families can enjoy a full menu of classic brunch dishes for purchase during the event. Choose from egg or tofu breakfast plates, burritos, croissant breakfast sandwiches, French toast, avocado toast, and bagels with lox and cream cheese. Sweet bites include bread pudding and assorted donuts. Options include a wide array of vegetarian and vegan options as well, and adults can treat themselves to a mimosa.

Every guest, including adults and children older than 12 months, needs a ticket to attend the event. Tickets are $25 and include all the activities noted above. Tickets for children ages 1-8 also include participation in the specific egg hunt zone corresponding with the ticket. Parents and caregivers are allowed to accompany but not assist with the egg hunt, except for the ages 1-3 egg hunt.

Please note, Lincoln Park Zoo will be closed until noon on April 4 and will only be open to Spring Egg-Stravaganza ticketholders until that time.
