How much do Chicago zoo tickets cost?

Lincoln Park Zoo admission is free every day, no reservation required. Lincoln Park Zoo parking is free for the first half hour. After that, rates range from $35–$45 per day and include applicable parking taxes. Cash is not accepted at the parking gates.

How does the zoo stay free?

85% of the zoo’s operating costs are supported by zoo members, donors, and visitors. A subsidy from the Chicago Park District covers the remainder. Lincoln Park Zoo is not owned or operated by the City of Chicago. Support the zoo today!

What animals can you see at Lincoln Park Zoo?

Over 170 species across 49 acres, including African lions, western lowland gorillas, African penguins, giraffes, snow leopards, sea lions, and many other critically endangered species and species that are extinct in the wild. What can’t I bring to the zoo?

Alcohol purchased outside the zoo is prohibited, and we ask that you refrain from smoking tobacco and cannabis inside the gates for the health and safety of our animals and visitors. Pets are not allowed at the zoo, but service animals are welcome. Learn more about the service animal policy here.

Can I meet the animals?

Our world-class habitats enable guests to get up close to species while still creating an environment that puts the animals first. Interactive programs at the zoo vary by season and can include Groom the Goats, Feed the Cows, Feed the Chickens, and Malott Family Penguin Encounters. All of these options embody our animal-first philosophy —individual animals choose whether or not to participate each day.
