Paul graduated with a B.A. in biology at Lawrence University before moving on to a M.S. program in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His thesis focused on understanding the impacts of water management on grassland birds in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Paul has worked for a variety of organizations focused on prairie restoration and wildlife conservation in the Midwest, including the International Crane Foundation, the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin and Audubon Chicago-Region.
At Lincoln Park Zoo, Paul is a member of the AZA’s Population Management Center, where he is responsible for conducting genetic and demographic analyses and preparing breeding and transfer plans for the wildlife held in AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums.
