Unprecedented in the zoo’s 134-year
history, My Kind
of Zoo’s goals are to:
Dramatically increase the zoo’s
endowment,
to keep the zoo free to all visitors and support everything that
makes it great. Endowment funds make it possible for the
zoo to touch the lives of millions of children, families, educators,
and scientists; set the highest standards for research and animal
care; protect endangered species around the world; and raise awareness
of urgent conservation issues.
Create and maintain brilliant naturalistic exhibits that
incorporate breakthroughs in animal husbandry, education, conservation
and visitor experience – while preserving the zoo’s
intimacy and special charm.
Uphold a tradition of excellence at the zoo,
through gifts of operating support. During the campaign we
must continue to raise funds that underwrite the day-to-day operations
of the zoo.
