    The Meller’s chameleon is considered a species of least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
  • Habitat

    The species makes its home in forests and grasslands.
  • Niche

    One of the largest chameleon species, this reptile uses independently moving eyes to spot insect prey. It’s quick to shoot out its extendible tongue to snap up a meal.
  • Life History

    The species has a single horn above the nose, which males use to compete for mates. After breeding, females lay large clutches of eggs.
