Donor Relations Manager

DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct strategic planning for Women’s Board and Auxiliary Board. Direct initiatives with respect to Executive, Development, Nominating and Membership committees of both the Women’s Board and the Auxiliary Board. Manage daily operations of Board of Directors. Work with Development Directors to cultivate Board members as individual donors. Manage Donor Relations budget and oversee operating budgets of both Women’s Board and Auxiliary Board. Oversee sponsorship efforts for Women’s Board and Auxiliary Board fundraising events. Direct pledge reminder efforts on remaining capital campaign commitments. Maintain donor recognition standards and coordinate on-grounds installations. Supervise Donor Relations Coordinator and Donor Relations Assistant. Perform various tasks and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with word processing, spread sheet and database software. Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus. Ability to organize tasks and time to ensure timely completion of all projects. Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions. Ability to interact courteously and respectfully with supervisors, fellow employees, volunteers, zoo visitors and general public. Familiarity with Chicago’s philanthropic community, preferably through previous professional not-for-profit experience. Proven significant writing skills, including budget development. Exceptional verbal communication skills. Ability to initiate and maintain relationships with key internal and external constituencies. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Prefer four years related experience, particularly in a fundraising environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time. Ability to operate and safely drive electric carts. Ability to work in all weather conditions. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Available to work special events and meeting, which will occur outside of regular work schedule as assigned.
