Birdwalks at South Pond
More than 300 species of birds have been observed in Lincoln Park, one of the Chicago area's best locations to see the large numbers of migrating birds that pass through every year.

Join us on Thursday mornings during migration as we look for warblers and tanagers, finches and flyover hawks. The South Pond is also home to a nesting colony of black-crowned night-herons, and spring is the best time to watch them court and build nests.

These walks are geared toward beginning and intermediate birders, with an emphasis on learning bird identification. All are welcome. Bring binoculars, and dress for the weather. Click here for more information

Berry Good Fun (for children): Whole Foods Cooking Class
Summer’s berries can’t be beat. Join Chef Melissa Graham of Purple Asparagus and Monogramme Events for some berry good fun making fun, kid-friendly dishes, including Rosy Sunrises (a kiddy cocktail), Mini Raspberry-Cornmeal Muffins, Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes and Homemade Berry Sodas. Story Time is a free program held at the Farmhouse at the Farm-in-the-Zoo Presented by John Deere. Donations are welcome and help fund this popular program.
