Join us for the brilliance of this annual fun, free, family-oriented holiday celebration, featuring luminous displays and holiday-season activities throughout zoo grounds.
We’ll flip the on switch for the free holiday fun on November 28. Afterward, ZooLights will shine Friday–Sunday until December 12, at which point the lights be on nightly (except December 24 and 25) until January 4. Santa heads back to the North Pole after December 23, however.

Standard parking rates apply in the zoo lot. Please be advised that, due to the popularity of this event, traffic—especially on weekends—can lead to congested roadways in the vicinity of the zoo. We highly recommend taking public transportation if it’s an option for you!

Ice Skating at Lincoln Park Zoo!
Be sure to meander over to the Farm-in-the-Zoo during your ZooLights visit to enjoy Ice Skating at Lincoln Park Zoo! Open daily until 9 p.m. from November 28–March 1 (except December 24 and 25). $5 admission; $5 skate rental (or bring your own). Get ready to glide!
BrewLights Presented by Louis Glunz Beer
On Wednesday, December 3, Lincoln Park Zoo held its first-ever Brewlights Presented by Louis Glunz Beer. The sold-out special event featured a dozen delicious beers from top-flight breweries, food including Aurelio’s Pizza, live music inside the Kovler Lion House and taxi ride discounts courtesy of Curb!
Opening Day, Friday—November 28: Help us flip the switch! At 4:55 p.m. we will hold a lighting ceremony at the Kovler Sea Lion Pool to kick off the festivities.
BrewLights Presented by Louis Glunz Beer—Wednesday, December 3 (Sold Out): A savory selection of holiday cheer was on tap at the first-ever BrewLights Presented by Louis Glunz Beer. Guests enjoyed a dozen different draft beer samples, then had the opportunity to purchase additional pours of their favorite brews.
New Year’s Eve: We will distribute complimentary festive hats, horns and party favors to visitors while supplies last!

Members-Only Night at ZooLights
For the second year in a year, Lincoln Park Zoo members and their guests had ZooLights all to themselves for one special night. From 5–9 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, members enjoyed:
- Free skate rental and ice time at Ice Skating at Lincoln Park Zoo (located at the Farm-in-the-Zoo)
- Free rides on the AT&T Endangered Species Carousel
- Free rides on the new Lionel Train Adventure
- 20 percent discount on retail purchases at Wild Things! gift shop
Members Lounge at ZooLights
Members will once again receive VIP treatment during this year’s festivities, with exclusive access to the Members Lounge in the Tadpole Room on the lower level at Park Place Café from 5–8 p.m. Warm up with free hot chocolate, cider and tea, cookies and crafts. The Members Lounge will be open November 28–30, December 5–7 and December 12–31. Please note: the Members Lounge will be closed during Members-Only Night at ZooLights.
ZooLights Coat Drives
Throughout ZooLights, we will be collecting new and gently used winter clothing. Donated items will be distributed to Chicago charities. Donation boxes will be located inside Park Place Café.
Every Friday night at ZooLights, help ComEd, Lincoln Park Zoo and Chicago Cares “Warm Up Chicago” by bringing new hats and gloves for those in need and receive a free illuminated gift. Donation boxes will be located inside the Kovler Lion House.
