Zoo Ball 2014 at Lincoln Park Zoo
On Friday, July 11, 2014, the Women’s Board of Lincoln Park Zoo hosted the 37th Annual Zoo Ball, “Monkey Business,” co-chaired by Katie Gledhill and Caroline Huebner and presented by Guggenheim Partners, LLC.
The elegant soirée—the preeminent fundraising gala of the Chicago summer social season—raised more than $1.2 million. Proceeds go toward the Women’s Board’s efforts to support major zoo developments including the new Regenstein Macaque Forest, an improved west entrance, the new Lionel Train Adventure and an expanded plaza around Eadie Levy’s Landmark Café.
Approximately 850 guests attended the elegant event, which featured Japanese motifs influenced by the Japanese snow monkeys who will reside at Regenstein Macaque Forest. From Asian-inspired cuisine to cherry blossom decor accents, a Far East sense of refinement prevailed. In addition to the sumptuous dinner, dancing, raffle and silent auction, whimsical elements delighting guests included Garrett Popcorn Shops popcorn, Jeni’s Ice Cream, and photo flip-book stations by A Little Scene.
Thanks also to Grand Patron Sponsor J.N. Pritzker/Tawani Foundation/Pritzker Military Museum & Library; Technology Sponsor Lathrop & Gage LLP; raffle donors Bochíc, The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (A Four Seasons Hotel), Paul Stuart and Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue; and Media Partner Make It Better for their generous support.
