United Run for the Zoo

Thanks for a Wonderful Race!

The weather was cool and damp, but sunny dispositions prevailed at United Run for the Zoo 2013. A few thousand people participated in the 10K and 5K runs and 5K fun walk, drawing extra inspiration from animals in the outdoor exhibits lining the courses. The sold-out Safari Stampede mini obstacle course for kids ages 8 and under was a wild success too. United Airlines domestic-flight tickets were awarded to the overall male and female winners in the 5K and 10K races, while New Balance Chicago distributed specialty prizes to the first, second and third place finishers in each age group. Thanks to all the sponsors who made the event possible, and thanks to everyone who ran—your support helps keep Lincoln Park Zoo free and open every day of the year.
