Spend Veterans Day at the Zoo!
Join us at Lincoln Park Zoo during your day off from school! Veterans Day Zoo Camp offers exciting learning opportunities for animal and nature lovers in preK–4th grade. Each camp group will explore the zoo and participate in a variety of activities. Activities will focus on animal diversity, environmental conservation and the ways Lincoln Park Zoo cares for animals at the zoo and conserves them in the wild.
The theme for the camp is “Animal Athletes”. Can you imagine being able to carry five times your own weight like an ant or leaping as far as a kangaroo? These animal Olympians and many more are the record-holders of the animal kingdom. Come meet some of the fastest, strongest and smartest creatures on the planet.
Looking for camp for fifth–eighth graders? Please email Camp Coordinator Kristine Casman at Camp@lpzoo.org and let us know. We are considering offering programs for this age group and would like to contact you in the future!
Active Lincoln Park Zoo members at any level receive a 15 percent discount on registration. Become a member today!
Lincoln Park Zoo adheres to a strict cancellation and refund policy:
- If you need to cancel your registration up to two weeks prior to the program, a full refund will be given, less a 12.5 percent processing fee.
- If you need to cancel your registration less than two weeks prior to the program, no refund will be given. However, you may find another participant to fill your place as long as they meet all the pertinent program requirements (e.g. age restrictions). The zoo’s Education Department must be notified of the participant change at least 24 hours in advance.
- If Lincoln Park Zoo must cancel a program, a full refund will be issued to the registrant.

Each camp group is lead by a camp instructor. These professionals have extensive experience working with children and a demonstrated commitment to connecting children to the natural world. Camp instructors facilitate all educational components of the camp day, but groups also have the chance to meet zoo staff throughout the week, from veterinarians to zookeepers to scientists. Zoo volunteers will also support each camp group as they travel around the zoo and participate in activities.
