Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo

In the summer of 2010, Lincoln Park Zoo opened its newest exhibit, Nature Boardwalk. Since its opening, this natural environment has evolved to become a mature, complex ecosystem and home to a slew of native plants and wildlife. Some species, like lanceleaf coreopsis and red-eared slider turtles, were introduced by the zoo, while others have simply discovered the environment and settled in to call Nature Boardwalk home. Join us to hear more about the success of this one-of-a-kind zoo exhibit from director of horticulture Brian Houck and Mason Fidino of the zoo’s Urban Wildlife Institute. These experts will speak about the project and then lead a walkabout around Nature Boardwalk to point out highlights of the space.
