Busy Days and Bright Minds

As summer ramps up around Chicago, we at Lincoln Park Zoo are getting busier, too. This week we welcomed a group of our social media followers to try out the Patio at Café Brauer. I’d like to welcome everyone to visit this spot—the most scenic bar in Chicago—and experience a lovely a new complement to our grounds. (I also recommend the steak tacos. Very tasty.)

On the scientific front, Elizabeth Lonsdorf, Ph.D., director of our Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes, wrapped up a field project this week in Gombe, where she’s continuing the work of Jane Goodall in studying the chimpanzees that inhabit this verdant region. See her fascinating field diaries here: http://bit.ly/lVmTnq

Finally, I am helping my sons get ready to start Lincoln Park Zoo Conservation Camp next week. They’re excited about learning and playing in our living classroom and I couldn’t be prouder to see them here, immersed in the wonders of wildlife.

I’ll have more on Elizabeth Lonsdorf’s work and Conservation Camp in forthcoming posts. Until then, I’ll keep you posted.

Sincerely,
Kevin Bell
