Serengeti Scenes

A meal on the savanna.

Early Saturday morning, we were driving and came upon four lionesses with four young cubs and one older cub feasting on a yearling wildebeest. It was amazing how they all were sharing their meal with minimal disputes. The cubs even got their share. We must have watched for an hour just enthralled by their strength and hunger. Every one of the lions walked away with their bellies dragging along the ground.

Our view leaving the Serengeti.

We then went back to our rooms, finished packing and boarded a four-seater Cessna that belonged to Frankfort Zoological Society. Our pilot, Felix, flew us from Seronera (in the heart of the Serengeti) to Arusha where we boarded a commercial plane to Dar es Salaam. The next leg of our trip? Gombe National Park!
