Tonight marks Lincoln Park Zoo’s annual meeting. It’s a chance to review the past year with the Board of Trustees and special friends of the zoo, looking at our many accomplishments supporting the only privately managed free zoo in the United States and planning the year ahead.
As always, though, we hope for next year to be even better. There’s plenty of exciting news ahead. African lions Myra and Sahar continue to meet behind the scenes, preparation for a platonic pairing at the Kovler Lion House. At Regenstein Center for African Apes, our gorilla bachelor troop continues to take shape, as you can see in this video of Mosi and Umande playing together behind the scenes.
The full bachelor troop will feature twice as much energy when it goes on exhibit in coming months. But if you can’t wait for a jolt of zoo fun, be sure to join us tomorrow night for the season’s first Jammin’ at the Zoo concert. Tickets are still available for Hedley opening for Neon Trees. As always, proceeds support keeping Lincoln Park Zoo free and open to all.
