Wild Outreach

Alex Gallegos, Lincoln Park Zoo's manager of community outreach, attended Children's Day at Harrison Park in Pilsen this weekend, where he educated kids about gorilla physiology by comparing tracings of their hands to the big apes'. Gallegos strives to broaden the zoo's appeal by conducting outreach to communities around the city. In short, he brings a little bit of the zoo to the people in the hopes of prompting them to visit the zoo.

Mothers-To-Be Receive Zoo Onesies from the Women's Board

The Women’s Board of Lincoln Park Zoo donated zoo onesies to more than 300 mothers-to-be at St. Anthony’s Hospital’s first-ever community baby shower. In addition to the adorable outfits, families from Little Village, Pilsen and North Lawndale received pointers on prenatal and postnatal care. See the photo after the jump!
