Lincoln Park Zoo Bids Sad Farewell to King of Urban Jungle

Lincoln Park Zoo is saddened to report that animal care staff made the difficult decision to euthanize Adelor, our geriatric male African lion, due to progressively deteriorating health and quality of life. The Lincoln Park Zoo family is saddened by this loss. A memorial page has been set up in his honor, where Adelor fans and friends of the zoo are welcome to leave comments, share memories, or express condolences to caregivers who are especially affected by his loss.

CareerBuilder Update

Yesterday a number of media outlets reported Lincoln Park Zoo’s displeasure with CareerBuilder’s plan to air commercials featuring chimpanzees during the Super Bowl. More coverage is planned, including a WGN radio interview with Assistant Director of the Lester E. Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes Steve Ross, Ph.D., scheduled for Monday morning.
