Wild Representatives of the Emerald Isle

While African animals make up much of the collection at Lincoln Park Zoo, a few species found on the Emerald Isle can be admired on this sunny St. Patrick’s Day. And your best bet to find them is to seek out the feathered set.

European white storks, Atlantic puffins (pictured) and common murres live in ranges that include Ireland.

And if you do make it to the zoo today, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for one more creature who traces her lineage back to Ireland—Curator of Birds Colleen Lynch.
