Gorilla Babies Head Out

Today's gorgeous spring weather prompted Kwan's gorilla troop to soak up some sun in their outdoor yard at Regenstein Center for African Apes. It was baby Nayembi's first-ever trip outdoors with her family; last year, she was still recovering from her facial injury under the expert watch of our caregivers.

The above video was great in

The above video was great in showing how apes play, however is it possible for future videos to have a 'caption' option? I'am deaf, so missed comments made by the Curator of Primates. If this could done....and it can be done....that would be absolutely fab.

Thanks for the comment. That's a great idea--we will pass the request along to our video production people!

Umande

I am curious, how is Umande, doing? He is a young male gorilla that came to you from the Columbus Zoo. He was my buddy at our zoo. I miss him. He was always social and fun to visit.

Re: Umande

Umande is doing great--he's growing well and interacting a lot with the other juvenile males in his bachelor group. You can see a photo of him enjoying a Shamrock treat last St. Patrick's Day here!
