An Antidote to Saturday Morning Cartoons

The mixed-species ecosystem at the zoo’s Regenstein Small Mammal-Reptile House will provide a wild classroom for first–second graders participating in this weekend’s Second Saturdays Showcase.

Little ones will learn about biomes and how they meet the needs of different species, such as the white-faced saki monkey—one of the exhibit’s most unique residents. Kids will also design their own “habitat.”

The adventure is just one part of this brand-new program, which lets peer groups of all ages study the same topic in various ways at the zoo, then reconvene to share their experiences.
