What’s new with baby rhino King? Now up to 250 pounds, the little one has been outside more frequently, running laps in his yard and dashing in and out of the building. (He’s also gotten good and muddy in the yard’s wallow.)

Mom Kapuki still keeps the little one close, but Zoological Manager Laszlo Szilagyi reports she’s a little more relaxed about King exploring his surroundings.

When’s the best time to see King? He typically has outdoor access from 11 a.m.–4 p.m., although he’s currently in the habit of taking a nap around 1 or 2 p.m. Like so much else, that will probably change as he grows!
