lincoln park zooThanks for your question, Carl. Sahar is your typical teenager who is not quite sure of his own size and strength. As this still-growing lion tests his boundaries while actively exploring his new home at the Kovler Lion House, the occasional scrape sometimes results. Animal care staff carefully monitor him — and his small bumps and bruises.

LouiseThanks for the pictures. I volunteer on Monday afternoons and still have not seen Zahar. Look forward to seeing him for many years.

lincoln park zooChristine: Yes, Sahar is now well acquainted with Myra, the zoo's 16-year-old female lion. Currently, animal care staff at the Kovler Lion House try to do introductions every day. Each intro lasts about 3-5 hours, and the cats have access to indoor and outdoor areas.
