The animal care experts at Regenstein Center for African Apes kicked the holiday weekend off right by distributing some sugar-free shamrock-shaped treats to the building’s gorilla bachelor group.
The sugar-free snacks added an extra bit of sweetness to a healthy herbivore diet consisting mostly of fruits and veggies
Zookeepers distributed the treats where adolescent gorillas Azizi, Amare, Mosi and Umande would be sure to see—and eat—them.
Umande uses his fingers to get one of the snacks off the exhibit window.
Amare eats his shamrock right off the glass.
Azizi turned his back on the viewing window as he scarfed his handful.
The gorillas made quick work of their special treats. Soon all that remained was a streak on the glass.
