Keo’s chimpanzee group will have access to the central outdoor yard at Regenstein Center for African Apes for the next couple weeks. The shift made for fun today as Keo, Vicky and Kibali spotted chimpanzees Hank, Kathy, Nana, Cashew and Chuckie in the neighboring exhibit.

Hank, Kathy and Nana check out the new chimpanzees across the way. There were plenty of vocalizations and activity as the two groups communicated outdoors.

Chuckie (from Hank’s group) takes in the new faces.

Cashew (also from Hank’s group) tries to get a better view of the neighboring chimpanzees.

Keo explores the outdoor exhibit. At 54, he’s the oldest male chimpanzee in any accredited North American zoo.

Vicky (from Keo’s groups) shows excitement on seeing the other chimpanzee group. Come to Regenstein Center for African Apes to spot them while you can!
