lincoln park zooThey’re motion-activated cameras. Scientists in the zoo’s Urban Wildlife Institute have set up monitoring stations with these devices to assess the biodiversity and populations of urban wildlife species and plan better conservation management strategies for the region. Also known as camera traps, they’ve documented scores of species, from raccoons to raptors. Check out this slideshow for more details: http://www.lpzoo.org/slideshows/wholivesinourneighborhood/
