ZooLA (Zoo Live Auction) is an intimate evening attended by approximately 200 guests, featuring a live auction, hors d’oeuvres and cocktail reception. The party unfolds in a beautiful private club, setting the stage for a very personal, philanthropic experience.
The select and limited number of items featured at this very elegant affair are luxurious, rare, unusual and often exclusive to Lincoln Park Zoo. Past items include exotic trips to Africa, Asia and Europe, wine tastings at world-leading vineyards, custom couture, dazzling haute jewelry, stays at breathtaking golf and ski homes, in-home dinners prepared on site by celebrity award-winning chefs and other rare and unusual experiences. The last Live Auction raised over $260,000 for the zoo.
Guests at the Zoo Live Auction are affluent and sophisticated. The party appeals to business, social and civic leaders who have attended most of the black-tie events in the city and crave a more intimate setting. While guests indulge in delicious treats and tempting treasures, they generously support one of Chicago’s cultural gems.
The press coverage from the event and the visibility of the items and donors offer a fantastic marketing opportunity to a desirable demographic. This year the west side of zoo grounds will be transformed. In addition to the up close and personal view of the lively snow monkeys offered by the new Regenstein Macaque Forest, the improved west entrance, new Lionel Train Adventure, and expanded plaza around Eadie Levy’s Landmark Café will provide extra space to relax, learn, and play. Proceeds from ZooLA will go toward the Women’s Board’s efforts to support these developments.
